Racing Club crushed Atletico Tucuman 4-0 on Halloween for their first three points of the Argentine Apertura championship.
La Academia won the match courtesy of goals from Pablo Luguercio, Pablo Caballero, Lucas Aveldano and an own goal from Hector Desvaux.
Despite the win, Racing are still in the relegation zone, and are in much need of as many points as possible to remain in the Argentine top flight next season.
Racing went ahead in the 5th minute when Luguercio met a Matias Cahais cross with a good finish.
Seven minutes later Caballero added their second when he reacted first to a rebound in the area after a corner kick from Lucas Castroman.
In the 34th minute Desvaux converted an own goal after pressure from Cahais and Adrian Lucero.
Aveldano put the result out of Tucuman´s reach when he slotted the ball home after a fine individual move from Luguercio.
In Saturday´s other matches, Velez Sarsfield beat Godoy Cruz 2-0 and Gimnasia de La Plate held San Lorenzo to a 2-2 draw.
Defending champions, Velez, lead the championship with 24 points from 12 matches.
On Sunday, River Plate face Lanus at the Monumental and Boca Juniors do battle with Rosario Central at the Gigante de Arroyito.
