Former Argentine international, Juan Roman Riquelme, is likely to leave Boca Juniors for a move to Corinthians of Brazil next year, reported Argentine newspaper Ole on Friday.
Corinthians won´t pull out of negotiations with Boca Juniors for the playmaker, and it seems that the possibilities of a future transfer have increased.
Luis Paulo Rosemberg, the marketing director of the Timao, is in charge of the operation, and is set to reunite with directors of the Buenos Aires giants next week.
Rosemberg is a specialist when it comes to difficult negotiations. He brought Ronaldo and Matias Defederico to the club, and is now concentrating on offering Riquelme and Boca a deal that they can´t refuse.
¨Luis Paulo will be at the head of the negotiations for Riquelme and we believe that our dream could become reality in December, even if it is difficult. We want to have him in 2010,¨ affirmed Mario Goggi Filho, the president of Corinthians.
Since July the popular Sao Paulo club have been after Riquelme. Next week negotiations will resume.
Corinthians´ idea is to count with Riquelme for the 2010 Copa Libertadores, a tournament which they have already qualified for. The Brazilian outfit have never won the tournament before.
