Targeting Napoli in transfers Stephen Lodeiro

Nicolas Lodeiro, an offensive midfielder for Nacional, has drawn the notice of Italian Serie A team Napoli, who is set to make an offer for the player in the coming days. After a meeting of the clubs’ directors, an agreement still needed to be achieved.

However, discussions will probably carry on until everyone is happy. Lodeiro has the ability, according to Napoli, to have an effect on the team and develop into one of the best players in the Italian league.

The 20-year-old Lodeiro helped Nacional win the Uruguayan title the previous year. The premier club competition in South America, the Copa Libertadores, saw Nacional go to the semifinals thanks to him. He participated in both legs of Uruguay’s qualifying play-off against Costa Rica, which was crucial in assisting Uruguay’s World Cup qualification.

Despite receiving interest from numerous European teams, Lodeiro stated that he intends to stay at Nacional through the end of the current season. His chances of making Uruguay’s starting eleven at the World Cup may be reduced if he relocates overseas due to potential adaption issues.

While in Uruguay, Napoli also expressed interest in Sebastian Coates, a teammate of Lodeiro’s from Nacional. Nacional, though, is still deciding whether to sell the player.
