Argentina: Palermo and Ortega will command the war on Haiti
Palermo and Ortega versus Haiti will lead Argentina.
Argentina’s attack will be led by seasoned players Martin Palermo and Ariel Ortega of Boca Juniors and River Plate, respectively, when they take on Haiti in a World Cup qualifier on Wednesday in Neuquen. The national team’s coach, Diego Maradona, has already announced his starting lineup, from which he will likely select at least one player for his 23-man roster for the World Cup in South Africa.
Diego Pozo, Ariel Garce, Paolo Goltz, Juan Insaurralde, Fabian Monzon, Sebastian Blanco, Juan Mercier, Leonel Vangioni, Facundo Bertoglio, Ariel Ortega, and Martin Palermo will make up Maradona’s starting lineup.
The Boca icon Palermo, who scored the decisive goal for Argentina in their penultimate World Cup qualifier against Peru last year, is the player most likely to feature in the World Cup finals out of the eleven. Pozo, Monzon, and other players can make the team, and Maradona may throw in a surprise.
